Every morning I return to the female form with red and blue pencils. I study gesture, the body, eyes, hair, shading, and silhouette. Japanese traditional tattoo motifs move through the work: flowers, snakes, masks, and patterns.

These drawings began as practice. They became the part of the studio giving me the most energy. I release them in small groups as they are completed.
